“… which will certainly be a triumph for Scotland Yard.”
– The Adventure of The Norwood Builder (NORW)
From the late 1940’s through the 1950’s, there was an internationally syndicated radio program called Secrets of Scotland Yard. Approximately 110 different episodes were recorded. The following broadcast, entitled The Bank of England Robbery, was heard over the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on October 5, 1953. It was probably rebroadcast in the United States over the Mutual Broadcasting System.
The Secrets of Scotland Yard shows were hosted by Clive Brook. Brook played the role of Sherlock Holmes in the 1929 film, The Return of Sherlock Holmes. This was the first film version of Holmes that had sound. Brook would again play Holmes in the 1932 film Sherlock Holmes and in a cameo role for the 1930 Paramount on Parade film.
