We are saddened to learn of passing of Sarah Ann Robertson, the 37th Garrideb, nearly a year ago. The Baker Street Irregulars, at their annual dinner meeting, honors those members who have passed “beyond the Reichenbach” with a “Stand with Me upon the Terrace” ceremony. The ceremony is based on a conversation between Holmes and Watson in His Last Bow.

The Heart of Texas chapter of the Sisters in Crime, a group of female crime writers, offered the following obituary:

Sarah Ann Robertson passed peacefully in Austin on March 17, 2016 at age 69. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Rebecca “Becky” Voiers Robertson, and maternal grandparents Lewis W. and Ethel “Dot” Mathews Voiers of Taylor. She is survived by her brothers Attorney Rob V. Robertson, Colonel John V. Robertson, USAF (ret’d), (wife Martha), her niece Rebecca Robertson, 3 nephews, Stephen (Sandy), Brian (Teresa) and Scott (Mandy) Robertson, 9 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great niece, cousins Helen Leach Scott and George Leach along with many other beloved relatives, neighbors and friends. She was a graduate of Taylor High School and the University of Texas at Austin. Sarah retired from AISD where she was a volunteer coordinator working ceaselessly to advance the interaction of all members of the faculty and student body. During her retirement years she was an ardent employee and promoter of Dream Bakery, an avid mystery novel reader and collector, the family historian, and a stalwart advocate for the Taize Christian ministry as well as a loyal member of Sisters in Crime and the Sherlock Holmes Society of Austin. The family sincerely appreciates the care extended by the 7th floor Oncology staff at Seton Medical Center and Austin Hospice’s Christopher House.
